NFMV is actively seeking an experienced finance and administration officer to join their dynamic team to support the Director and more specifically, the Project manager of the “Improving and Strengthening Leadership for Nature-based Development” (ISLAND) Program, which focuses on enhancing and strengthening leadership in the management of Pacific Island forests. This role will involve collaborating closely with stakeholders in Fiji and the broader Pacific region.
The Finance and Administration Officer will oversee the organisation and project financials of NatureFiji-MareqetiViti to ensure that services are accomplished in an effective, efficient and timely manner and in compliance with all legislative, policy and procedural guidelines of NatureFiji-MareqetiViti, as applicable.
The role will require working closely with the Director, project managers and other members of the NFMV team
to ensure that the organisation’s financial and administrative needs are managed efficiently and effectively. This will require the Finance and Administration Officer to establish and maintain harmonious and effective relationships and undertake all duties to a high professional standard.
The ISLAND Program is funded by the United States Forest Service (USFS) International Programs (IP). Its
primary objective is to provide technical, administrative, and logistical support to the USFS-IP and NFMV, enabling them to collaborate with local partners in the region. Together, they aim to improve the management of Pacific Island forests, enhance resilience to the biodiversity crisis and climate crisis, and ultimately enhance the well-
being of people throughout the Pacific. The USFS and NFMV will cooperatively identify local partners and projects in the region and develop a supportive system with consistent methodology and guidelines to achieve the goals
of the ISLAND program.
The role reports to the Director.
