Protect New Trees in Thurston Gardens

Saturday, 26 May, 2018

 10.00 am – 12.00 noon

The Suva City Council and the Ministry of Forests planted more than 150 new trees in the Thurston Gardens as part of the International Day of the Forests celebrations in March 2018, and we want to help protect them for the future! NatureFiji-MareqetiViti club member Andrew Malden has organised a group of volunteers to place protective covers around the bases of the newly planted trees.

We will use recycled water bottles provided by Pleass Global, manufacturer of AquaSafe® and VaiWai®Artesian Waters (and a corporate member of NFMV).

10.00 am sharp: Meet at the head of the Fiji museum parking lot at Thurston Gardens

Bring hand gloves if you have them, and don’t forget bug spray!
Also, bring a sack lunch and we can picnic together when we’ve finished

Moderate Fitness needed
All ages welcome — children must have adult supervision
